Independence Day is this Wednesday. To help us celebrate, we made Flag Windsocks today at Gran's house.
For our supplies, Gran hit the Dollar Store and stocked up on plastic
flags, blue and red ribbons, and patriotic garland. We also used empty
Pringles cans, and if you don't have Pringles around the house, you
might find those at the Dollar Store, too.

| Because our flags were transparent, we started by wrapping the Pringles cans with white paper, securing with glue and a little clear tape. |

| Next we wrapped the flags around the cans, making sure the stars were on the outside and securing with clear tape. |

| We cut lengths of blue and red ribbons, and taped them to the inside of the open end of the can, alternating red and blue. We used 4 of each color. |

| Using a shorter piece of ribbon, we made a hanger by taping the ends of the ribbon on opposite sides at the closed end of the can. |

| We cut short pieces of garland and wrapped around the top... |

| ...and the bottom of the can. If the garland has a bit of wire, twist the two ends together to secure it, then use glue and/or tape as needed. |
