I had an idea for a new flower design. I think it looks like a pansy, and it turned out great! Therefore, I must share!

| Start by creating a template. I quarter folded a small piece of cardstock and cut my petal shape on the folded corner. |

| Unfolded, the template resembles a bone. |
 |
| Cut FOUR. Then singe the edges with a flame. This not only seals the edges of the fabric, but you can shape and smooth the places that didn't quite cut out right. |

| Place two of them perpendicular to one another. |
 |
| Do the same with the other set. |
 |
| Place one set on top of the other set, off center of each other. You want to be able to see the bottom set between the petals of the top set. |

| Place your button in the center and sew through all layers. I like to use embroidery thread for this step. |

| Finished flower... very simple and easy to make. Attach to an alligator clip, headband, or brooch. |
